About the beach

Ladies Bay

Ladies Bay and Chouet sit side by side at the top of the island, backed by L’Ancresse Common. Soft sand and a gentle slope make it a popular family beach, with rocks and pools to explore around the edges of the bay.

Its open, breezy aspect makes it popular for windsurfing and kitesurfing, and the Guernsey Sailing Trust runs windsurfing courses here in summer. There is a kiosk with public toilets at the top of the slip, and good parking nearby.

Tide & the beach

A wide area of sand is uncovered as the tide falls. The open aspect catches the wind, which is what suits it to watersports; conditions build in onshore weather. Check the wind, waves and your exit point before entering the water.
