Soft sand at Guernsey’s northern tip, sharing a sweep with neighbouring Chouet Bay on the edge of L’Ancresse Common, and a popular spot for windsurfing and kitesurfing.
These predictions use St Peter Port, Guernsey’s standard reference port. Local timing and conditions at Ladies Bay can vary slightly with weather and coastal geography. Times are shown in local Guernsey time.
Ladies Bay and Chouet sit side by side at the top of the island, backed by L’Ancresse Common. Soft sand and a gentle slope make it a popular family beach, with rocks and pools to explore around the edges of the bay.
Its open, breezy aspect makes it popular for windsurfing and kitesurfing, and the Guernsey Sailing Trust runs windsurfing courses here in summer. There is a kiosk with public toilets at the top of the slipway, and good parking nearby.
A wide area of sand is uncovered as the tide falls. The open aspect catches the wind, which is what suits it to watersports; conditions build in onshore weather. Check the wind, waves and your exit point before entering the water.
Tides. Tide predictions are forecasts. Actual sea level is affected by atmospheric pressure, wind and waves. Always observe the sea and your surroundings.
Swimming. Sea swimming carries risks: currents, waves, rocks, submerged structures, boats and cold water. This page is for planning and does not confirm conditions are safe. Do not assume the beach is lifeguarded.
Facilities. Facilities and café opening hours change seasonally. Check directly before making a journey specifically to use them.
